The London International Festival of Theatre brings the world of ground-breaking innovative theatre to venues and open spaces across London. Expect the unexpected in a healthy corrective to West End musicals.

First held in 1981 and biennial until 2001, the London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT for short) went annual for a few years before again becoming biennial. Even in inactive years it's active though, with its founding organisation overseeing numerous cultural pursuits around the capital.

The main event is the festival itself, however; a reliably innovative occasion that sees provocative, humorous and engaging performances staged throughout London.
